Leaves

Autumn scuffs across the earth,
leaves it patched and brown,
Holds his cap to catch the acorns,
falling to the ground,
Watches as the wild geese wheel
up their landing gear,
Sees a nipping wind
whirl red and yellow leaf around.

O leaves,
Fly near
This lonely time of year!

The color Purple

Last flower in bloom
Bravely standing in sunshine
Shy purple pansy

Purple Pansy
On the side
Last one standing
Boo Hoo Cry Cry

Dinosaur waits for
grandchildren, buckets, shovels
Sunny, summer day

The Color BLUE

Helmet so blue
on my head
If you weren't there
I'd be dead.

Little Boy Blue
hangs from a tree
upside down
what does he see?
Secrets unknown
to those who stand straight
If I bend, I could see.
It's never too late.

WINK posts Return -- The Color Green!

We weren't being mean
When we stopped before the green
Our computer died.

Mother Daughter Photo Blog

My ten year old daughter and I are starting a blog together this school year. Jaimee is in 6th grade and is very interested in photography. We are going to challenge ourselves to pick a topic each day and take a photo of our individual interpretations of that topic.

The photo for our banner was taken by Jaimee this afternoon when she noticed a hummingbird enjoying a tasty treat on the bright pink impatiens in our Swan planter! Do you see him poking his beak into the flower?

We decided on the name WINK for our blog, because photos taken in a QUICK FLASH of time often capture an exciting moment!
